A travelling exhibition prepared in 2023 commemorates the group of 46 Lithuanian intellectuals who were arrested by the Gestapo on 16-17 March 1943 and deported to the Stutthof (Poland) concentration camp. The exhibition provides a coherent account of the historical facts from the beginning of the Nazi occupation of Lithuania in June 1941 to the evacuation of the Stutthof concentration camp in January 1945 and the death march, which many of the inmates unfortunately did not complete. Of the 46 prominent Lithuanian figures arrested on 16-17 March 1943, 11 did not return. Among those who were arrested and did not return was priest Alfonsas Lipniūnas, who, in such inhumane conditions, managed to celebrate holy Mass and hear confessions every day of his life.
